Hello everyone

I want to share my opinion with you about a movie and also I have some grammar exercises for you .

Firstly ,Luc Besson's movie Léon (The Professional) gives us an intense story which makes me feel captivated with its impressive topic. Moreover characters attract my attention.To  illustrate ,Jean Reno plays a character named Léon who has learned to repress his emotions in order to perform his job as a "cleaner", or hit-man. His secluded world is shattered by the young girl named Mathilda who lives on the same floor in a apartment building.Secondly, I think the performance of twelve-year old Natalie Portman as Mathilda is excellent. Her ability to have believability in this difficult role. Finally,Mathilda and Léon are unexpectedly thrown together, but learn to value life from their chance encounter, and how valuable a friendship can be.I really enjoyed while I was preparing this activity.I mention why I select this video and how I feel about movie. However , I had difficulty  in the process of decision about selection because I want to show you the whole film J . Unfortunately , I had a second difficulty while I uploaded the videos , so I put the link of video, then I managed to put the videos.Despite these both troubles , it was an interesting experience form me. I would like to prepare the activity like this again.

Hello everyone, 
As a jury member of the committee choosing the person of the year, I want to announce my candidate with a small story to explain my reasons.I introduce  Katherine Ann Watson to you .In 1953, Katherine Ann Watson , a 30-year-old graduate student in the department of Art History , takes a position teaching "History of Art" at Wellesley College , a conservative women's private liberal arts college in Massachusetts  because she wants to make a difference and influence the next generation of women. At her first class, Katherine discovers that the girls have already memorized the entire syllabus from the textbook so she decides to introduce them to Modern Art. Moreover , she  encourages them to discuss about topics such as what makes good art and what the Mona Lisa's smile means. This brings her into conflict with the conservative College President warning Katherine to stick to the syllabus if she wants to keep her job. Katherine doesn’t give in and  inspires them to seek more than marriage to eligible young men. Katherine realises Joan Brandwyn wanting to  be a lawyer and then she encourages her to apply to Yale Law School, where she is accepted. She decides that she wants  to be a wife and mother after graduation and asks Katherine to respect her choice. Katherine is dissapointed but she indulges her desire.With her classes , her students’ point of view about the life enhance a lot and of course, she is getting happy and successful day by day.Meanwhile , Joan realise that she is not happy in her marriage life and she divorces from her husband.She applies to the Yale Law School and with Katherine’s suggestion. College president impose conditions on Katherine: she must follow the syllabus, submit lesson plans for approval, keep a strictly professional relationship among all faculty members, and not talk to the girls about anything other than classes. Katherine decides to leave because she knows that she give them a chance to change their lifes. In the light of these informaiton which are given above about her purposes and her success , I want to choose her. Katherine is an extraordinary woman who objects to traditional learning syles. She rescues The students from being stereotype person  and she compels them to see the world through new eyes !

Into the wild is a 2007 American biographical drama film directed by Sean Penn who is an American actor, screenwriter and film director.He is also known for his left-wing political and social activisim.This film is an adaptation of the 1996 non-fiction book whose purpose is to address the matter of young Christopher McCandless and his odd seclusion from society and a lifestyle that was all  people could desire and also, the book written by Jon Krakauer has the same name as the film .The film is based on the travels of Christopher McCandless across North America.After graduating from university he abandons his possessions and  gives his entire $24,000 savings account to charities.While he is going to Alaska's wilderness, he encounters several characters shaping his life. During this time he gets to know a few people rather closely, and everyone admires his intensity and willingness to live completely by his beliefs, but he avoids true intimacy.He spends more than 100 days  by hunting small game, foraging, reading, and living in a deserted bus made to be a shelter for hunters, not seeing a single human in the wild and then he eventually understand that happiness is real when it is shared.He makes his decision about returning the society but he realizes swollen riverActually , some thougth he confuses edible plant with the poison one.  Realizing he is going to die, he writes a goodbye message, and some hunters find his decomposed body after days when the river settle down in the bus.I was impressed when I first watched the film.Therefore, I watched the film several times.Everyone wants to go away without thinking anything but noone can do this.Noone can dare to do this ,so it is only a dream for us.He did and he let himself understand the life.I love this film and I think that a sentence summarıze the plot perfectly :happiness is real when it is shared.I hope you like, too.

_REFLECTION TASK 2A__

A few days ago, I saw a cover of cartoon magazine and it influenced me a lot.Therefore, I decided to mention about child brides and child marriages defined as a formal marriage of informal union before the age of 18.Although child marriages are observed both boys and girls , it affects girls more than boys.There are several reasons to clarify what I mean.For instance, girls have to learn housework and take care of the kids in spite of going to school and enjoying their childhood.Moreover, it is so prevalence that one in every four marriages  involves child bride all over the world.There are several corporation trying to raise awareness about this issue.One of them is 'UÇAN SÜPÜRGE' founded in Ankara /Turkey. This corporation is doing a lot of activities to draw attention these marriages.For example, the volunteers working in the Uçan Süpürge try to  inform people living rural areas where this case is seen typically and they also inform poor families thinking dowry enhances their economic conditions.The important thing is what we can do about it.We can join one of these corporations to help them.In this way, we contribute to stop child marriages which make girls' life miserable.

This week , I want to  introduce you to Irmak Çakıcı whose story affect me so much. She is the fifth member of middle class family so  her opportunities are  limited. In her childhood , she stood out  with her talent in dance too much; nonetheless, her family couldn't afford the cost of her dance course.She was also hard-working student so she got into university in Istanbul. Although she had to have a job to afford her needs , she continued to get high notes.She earned scholarship and went to the London. While she was going to the class she saw a poster about a dance competition. She joined the competition and her life changed suddenly.She won competition and started to take dance courses from famous dance teachers.She was good at dancing so much ,so she was discovered in a short time by journalists.They wondered how she became succesfull in spite of her inadequate conditions.I think the answer is 'determination'.Dance is a lifestyle for her , so she have a lot of plans about her new life. She is continuing with her education and joining  competitions.She already have a lot of medals. When she returns Turkey , she will open a dance school providing scholarship to talented students. She never gave up and her dreams came true.I am proud of her and I belive she will be more succesfull in future.

1. Because Grace is a vegetarian, she must pay special attention to the amount of protein in the food she eats. Thus; she eats o lot of beans and eggs.

2. When Grace first became a vegetarian, she missed eating meat since she had always liked the food she eats. Therefore, she eats a lot of beans and eggs.

However; now she can not imagine eating meat because she has grown to appreciate the pure taste of meatless cuisine. Meat also tastes very strange to her; so, she is happy to be a vegetarian.

4. Sometimes it is very difficult to eat out due to the limited meatless choices on menus in restaurants. However; that is changing with the increase in vegetarian restaurants now.

5. Grace is opposed to the killing of animals as a vegetarian; so, she is disturbed by the use of animal fur for clothes.

6. She feels better, healtier and more humane now because she does not eat meat anymore.

7. Being a vegetarian, Grace feels that she is doing her share to protect animals. She becomes irritated when people question her motives for being a vegetarian. She tries to be patient with such people and make them understand the value of saving animals, but people do often not understand her.
